Lightening the Load
As avid art collectors, our clients craved an updated space that would illuminate their wonderful collection without competing for attention. They already had a longstanding relationship with one of our designers, so they came to us to take their Lakeshore Drive condo design from heavy and traditional to modern and fresh—without doing any serious renovation.
No Surface Left Untouched
Without altering the existing architecture, we transformed all 2,500 square feet of the condo with an eye towards color and texture. Floors and walls were given a lift with lighter colors and coverings. We mingled their favorite traditional pieces with new furnishings and materials for a comfortable and eclectic space.
Marrying Modern and Earthy
The kitchen is a collection of contrasts in color, texture and form. Custom, matte-finish cabinets juxtapose with a sleek, reflective white stove hood and upper cabinets, blending the traditional with the contemporary. To connect with the artful perspective of the rest of the home, the custom resin backsplash brings in a painterly touch with drips of color striating a single sheet of tile.
The Right Mix
The finished space now exudes warmth and tranquility, punctuated by bright, colorful art and an eclectic mix of furniture. Our clients can enjoy their stunning Lake Michigan views from the comfort of their masterpiece of a home.
